Extraction types:    Extractors are pre- delivered programmers using which we can extract data from different environment of SAP ERP to BW, to extract data from these different environments, we have different Extractors

We can access all extractor type in SAP ERP in transaction code SBIW (implementation guide for BI extractor)

When we have no standard data source, then we can use Generic Extractors

Note: Before going to extraction we need setup source system connection
